Circular Materials selects Reverse Logistics Group for reporting, producer services

Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) is pleased to announce that it has selected Reverse Logistics Group (RLG) to manage its producer registration and reporting platform, as well as producer services.

This collaboration supports CMO’s mission to provide producers with a full compliance service-offering to meet all the requirements of Ontario’s Blue Box Regulation, which was filed on June 3, 2021.

“We are happy to announce our collaboration with RLG to strengthen Circular Materials’ service offering to producers with the development of a secure supply-to-market reporting platform,” said Nicole Fischer, Chair of Circular Materials. “We know how important secure data management and professional customer service is to producers. That is why we have developed an easy-to-use reporting platform, along with a prioritization and escalation process to ensure producers get prompt, high-quality service through our call center and email support.”

CMO and RLG will soon launch a producer portal where participant producers will register with CMO and report their packaging, paper products and packaging-like products supplied each year. The development of a producer portal supports the organization’s planning for the long-term management of Ontario’s Blue Box common collection system. The data producers submit through the portal will be used to fairly allocate costs once fees are set next year.

RLG will further develop and implement an integrated IT system that will act as a model of the circular economy, providing an end-to-end solution to track and trace Blue Box materials from the point of collection to the point at which materials are recycled and made available for use in new products and packaging.

“We are excited to be collaborating with Circular Materials,” said Patrick Wiedemann, RLG CEO. “Our combined efforts and global expertise will deliver a cost-efficient track and trace Blue Box system that enables producers to maximize resource recovery for use in new products and packaging and acts as a model of the circular economy.”

Producers looking for more information about CMO’s service offering should contact info@circularmaterials.ca. Once signed up with CMO, producers will have the opportunity to participate in working groups focused on the rule creation strategy, reporting, compliance, and materials management.
