On January 25, 2024, the Government of Yukon introduced a new extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulation for packaging and paper products.
On February 1, 2025, the Government of Yukon approved Circular Materials’ Stewardship Plan for Packaging, Paper and Single-Use Products, with a program start date of November 1, 2025.
This change marks a significant shift in how recycling programs will be managed, placing more responsibility on producers to ensure effective recycling processes.
To support ongoing collaboration with municipalities, we have established a Municipal Working Group as a forum to share feedback, raise questions and directly engage with our team.
