As of October 1, 2026, your community’s recycling program will be managed by Circular Materials, a not-for-profit organization committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Alberta.
Starting mid-September, Collective Waste Solutions Inc., will deliver new recycling carts to residents to support the transition to an enhanced recycling system which must be used starting October 5, 2026. All local depots will be open for residential recycling drop off.

Cardboard boxes
Pizza boxes, direct mail boxes, moving boxes, shoe boxes.

Boxboard
Cereal boxes, tissue boxes, egg cartons, rolls from toilet paper and paper towel.
✅ Flatten.
✅ Empty.
Cartons
Soup, broth, egg and sauce cartons.
✅ Empty and free from food residue.
✅ Keep lids on.
Paper
Any colour, including flour bags, prescription bags, paper produce bags.
Notepads, white or coloured loose paper, file folders, other printed materials.
Community newspapers, flyers, brochures and magazines.
Greeting cards and envelopes, gift boxes.

✅ Separate from plastic bags used to cover items, remove elastic bands.
❌ Do not include soft or hard covered books/novels.
Hard plastic containers
Laundry detergent and household cleaner jugs, shampoo, body wash, salad dressing, condiment, dish soap, mouth wash bottles.

✅ Keep lids on.
PET plastic packaging and containers
Food trays, salad, yogurt, peanut butter, bakery and egg containers, plastic cups, plastic tubs and lids.

Small item plastic packaging
Hand sanitizer bottles, medication bottles, blister packs, plant pots.

Metal containers
Food cans, formula tins, metal lids, cookie, coffee and tea tins

Aluminum (foils and trays)
Aluminum foil, pie plates, frozen food trays.

More materials will be accepted at all recycling collection points – curbside and depot. These materials include glass containers (where they are not currently accepted), foam packaging, flexible plastic packaging, empty aerosol containers, laminated paper and plastic packaging.
Between September 22-30, 2026, Collective Waste Solutions Inc., the new collection contractor, will be delivering new recycling carts to residents to support the transition to the new and enhanced recycling system.
Starting October 5, 2026, we ask all residents to please use their new recycling container provided by Collective Waste Solutions Inc., the local collection contractor. All local depots will remain open and active for collecting residential recycling through a single stream system.
