Be recycle ready
- To ensure your recycling is collected, have it out by 7 a.m. on your collection day.
- Cardboard must be flattened and bundled to no larger than 75 cm x 75 cm x 20 cm (30” x 30” x 8”).
- Sort your recyclables by containers from paper and cardboard
- Please rinse containers and remove lids where possible.
- Please avoid using plastic bags in the blue bin.
- Remove plastic lids from cups first, and place both in with containers.

- Aluminum
- Tin cans
- Cardboard
- Newspaper, box board, household paper, magazines
- Styrofoam, if marked with the recycling symbol
- Magazines, catalogues, phone books
- Newspapers, flyers
- Egg cartons, cardboard boxes, pizza boxes
- Cardboard must be flattened and bundled to no larger than 75 cm x 75 cm x 20 cm (30″ x 30″ x 8″)
- Clothes/ clothing of any kind is not recyclable.
- Coloured bags in recycling – such as green, black, orange.
- Construction material such as wood, metal etc.
- Yard Waste such as grass clippings, leaves, branches
- Animal waste
- Blueprints/carbon paper
- Soiled Pizza boxes and soiled cardboard (e.g. grease, mould, paint cluttered cardboard)
- Aerosol cans (spray paint, bug spray, etc.) and other hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, pesticides) full aerosol cans are not acceptable, and should be disposed of at the annual Hazardous Waste Day in Timmins.
