Be recycle ready

  • Make sure your waste and recycling is set out at the curb by 7 a.m. (6 a.m. if you live in a downtown core). Trucks do not always come at the same time every week. On your collection day leave your recycling at the curb until 7 p.m. before bringing it back inside if it was not collected.
  • Remember to place your recyclables loose in your recycling bin. Bagged recycling will not be picked up.
  • Always remove lids and rinse food and drink containers before recycling them.
  • There is no limit to the amount you can recycle each week. Blue Box and Green Box recycling are collected on alternating weeks.
  • Recycling must be placed loose in wide-mouthed bins (16-22 gallons) at the curb (large 95 gallon carts will not be accepted and are for multi-residential and commercial use only).
  • Break down cardboard boxes so they are no larger than the size of your green bin.
  • Do not place fibre contaminated with motor oil or pet waste inside your green box.
  • Ice cream containers go into the blue box.
