Learn more about your recycling program.

Introducing your new recycling cart

Starting October 9, Hanover will transition to a recycling cart system. These new carts will simplify recycling and provide increased storage capacity for your recyclables.  
 
Carts will be delivered to homes between September 22 – October 3 and can be used as of October 9. Your collection day remains the same. Learn more about your new recycling cart.

What you can recycle

Be recycle ready

  • Give containers a quick rinse before putting in your recycling.
  • Place materials clean, dry and loose in your recycling.
  • Flatten and bundle cardboard to save space.
  • Lids and labels can remain on containers.
  • Have your recycling to the curb by 7 a.m. on collection day.
  • Hazardous materials, like batteries and medical sharps, do not belong in your recycling. Safely recycle them at a designated drop off location.
