As of March 31, 2025, Gananoque’s recycling program will be managed by Circular Materials, a national not-for-profit organization that is committed to building an efficient and effective recycling system in Ontario.

Be recycle ready

  • Recyclables should be separated by containers and paper/cardboard products and are collected on alternating weeks. 
    • Containers: aluminum, plastic, juice/milk cartons, glass (bottles and jars only) can be co-mingled in one box or clear-tied bag.
    • Paper/cardboard – cardboard, paper, magazines, etc can be co-mingled in one box or clear-tied bag.
  • Place only accepted materials in your bins for recycling.
  • Place bins at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your day of collection.
  • Rinse containers to remove any residue before placing them for recycling.
  • Flatten all boxes no larger than 2 feet x 3 feet before placing them for recycling.
