Recycling Program Transition

Starting May 1, 2024, Circular Materials will manage Rothesay’s recycling program. During the transition, residents will still be able to recycle the same materials and put recycling out on their normal collection day.

Be recycle ready

  • Place your recycling bins at the curb by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.
  • Sort your recyclables before placing them in your bin.
  • Flatten and break down cardboard boxes to save space on recycling. All cardboard should be flattened and placed into the recycling bin. Excess or large cardboard that does not fit into your bin can be flatten and bundled together using twine. Any cardboard longer than 3 feet must be cut down in size.
  • Remove all caps from containers.
  • Empty and rinse all containers before putting them in the recycling bin.
  • On windy days, put your recycling out for collection in the morning instead of the night before.
  • Don’t overfill your bins. Keep material below the rim.
  • In the winter, place bins on cleared parts of your driveway. Do not put them on top of snowbanks or icy patches.
