Aurora est modifie son programme de recyclage. La présente page fournit de plus amples renseignements sur les changements en cours, notamment sur la manière de demander un bac de recyclage, et d’en déterminer la taille, pour répondre aux besoins de votre foyer en matière de recyclage. 

Démarrage March 2026, each household in Dufferin County will receive a standard-issued 360-litre wheeled, lidded recycling cart designed to accommodate a broad range of accepted materials on a weekly basis.

If a 360-litre size cart does not meet your recycling needs, you can pre-order a smaller 240-litre recycling cart by Janvier 15, 2026. 

Pour residents who want to receive the standard issued 360-litre cart, and do not require a change, no further action is required. You will receive your cart delivery beginning March 1, 2026.

  • Liste élargie des matières acceptées : With advancements in the recycling system, residents will now be able to recycler davantage de matières such as hot and cold beverage cups, black plastic containers, frozen juice containers, ice cream tubs, deodorant and toothpaste tubes. This expanded list of materials will increase the volume of recyclable materials generated and collected from households. 
  • Tous Materials Must be Inside the Cart for Collection: All materials must be placed inside the le recyclage chariot, with the lid fully closed to be ready for collection pick up. Please note that material placed outside the recycling cart will not be collected.
  • Collection Schedule: Recycling collection service in Dufferin County will remain weekly.

If, based on the above considerations, you would like to procéder with a pre-order for a smaller 240-litre cart, please complete le Recycling Cart Request Form by January 15, 2026.

If you ne complete the Recycling Cart Request Form pour a smaller 240-litre le recyclage cart, then the standard issued 360litre cart will be delivered to your residence starting in March 2026. 

No, you will not be able to not be able to exchange the smaller 240-litre recycling cart for a larger one going forward. Please review the considerations below before you complete a recycling cart exchange form.

We’re not able to provide future exchanges for smaller recycling carts, so we encourage residents to choose the recycling cart size that best fits their household’s needs.

There are no changes to your weekly recycling collection schedule or frequency and your current recycling pickup day will remain the same. 

Blue box materials, particularly cardboard, must be broken down and flattened to support using the space efficiently. We recommend using your 360-litre recycling cart for at least three weekly collection pickups to understand your recycling needs before requesting an additional cart.

If another recycling cart is deemed necessary, a second 360-litre cart will be provided at no cost. A request form for a second cart will be shared when it becomes available. 

Please note, this only applies to households with a standard 360-litre recycling cart. A second cart ne sera pas be provided for households who pre-ordered the smaller 240-litre size recycling cart.

Residents are asked to use their current blue boxes until March 31, 2026. Starting April 1, 2026, residents will be required to use their new recycling cart. Residents can choose to re-purpose their old boxes, such as using them as storage containers.
