Producer fees

Each year, obligated producers report on the amount of packaging and paper materials they supply to consumers and then pay fees to cover the costs associated with their recycling. 

Circular Materials’ annual fee setting process is designed to ensure fairness and transparency, with fee rates for designated material categories covering the costs associated with the collection, transportation and processing of designated materials. 

To ensure producer fees are set in a fair and transparent manner, Circular Materials is committed to prudent fiscal management, competitive procurement and operational efficiencies, as well as achieving economies of scale from its national service-delivery model.
