class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Ontario\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ontario.ca\/laws\/regulation\/210391?search=blue+box\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Blue Box Regulation<\/a>\u00a0sets out a multi-year transition to extended producer responsibility (EPR) for residential packaging and paper materials.\u202fThe Regulation\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ero.ontario.ca\/notice\/019-5661\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Transition Schedule<\/a>\u00a0includes 28 First Nation communities.\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Circular Materials, as the administrator of Ontario\u2019s common collection system, is working with these First Nations to support their decision-making regarding transition and, if a First Nation accepts an offer from producers, to ensure a seamless transition of blue box services.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p class=\"fndry-paragraph\">Circular Materials is committed to meaningful consultation, building respectful relationships, and obtaining the free, prior, and informed consent of Indigenous peoples before proceeding with economic development projects which include collection class=\"fndry-paragraph\"><br \/>Where a First Nation receives collection services from a municipality, Circular Materials will:\u00a0<\/p><ul class=\"fndry-list\"><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">Contract with the municipality (or a private company) to collect blue box material. If collection includes ineligible sources, the First Nation will cover the cost to collect from ineligible sources.\u202f\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">Compensate the First Nation for review by the First Nation that will, once agreed by both parties, be the basis of an offer to be submitted to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rpra.ca\/\">Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority<\/a>\u2019s (RPRA\u2019s) Registry.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">With Band Council approval to proceed, Circular Materials will submit the offer in the form of an unsigned agreement to the Registry and the First Nation.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">RPRA will acknowledge receipt by email to the First Nation and Circular Materials.\u202f \u202f\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">RPRA will provide an acceptance\/revocation form to the First Nation.\u202f\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li><li class=\"fndry-list-item\">To accept the offer, the First Nation executes\u202fthe agreement and returns the acceptance form to RPRA.\u202f \u202f\u00a0<\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n            <\/div>\n                    <\/div>\n
