Recycle BC
Launched in May 2014, Recycle BC is the first full extended producer responsibility program in North America. Recycle BC ensures over 200,000 tonnes of packaging and paper product is collected from households and recycling depots, sorted and responsibly managed and recycled each year, servicing over two million households or over 99% of BC through curbside, multi-family and/or depot services.

Multi-Material Stewardship Western
Multi-Material Stewardship Western (MMSW) launched in 2016 to represent the interests of producers in fulfilling their obligations to fund up to 75% of recycling programs in the province for residential packaging and paper. MMSW has formed partnerships with over 465 municipalities, Regional Waste Authorities and First Nations communities.

Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba
Multi-Material Stewardship Manitoba (MMSM) is responsible for implementing their Program Plan on behalf of producers to fulfill their obligation to fund up to 80% of the residential packaging and paper recycling program in Manitoba. MMSM helps to ensure that as much recyclable waste as possible is captured efficiently and does not end up in a landfill.

Stewardship Ontario
Launched in 2004, Stewardship Ontario was the first extended producer responsibility (EPR) program for residential packaging and paper in Canada. They represent industry stewards in fulfilling their obligations to fund 50% of the cost of managing the collection and processing of residential packaging and paper. Stewardship Ontario is overseen by the Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA).

Automotive Materials Stewardship
Automotive Materials Stewardship (AMS) was established in 2016 to create environmentally sustainable ways for consumers to recycle used oil filters, oil containers, antifreeze and antifreeze containers. In 2021, AMS launched its Producer Responsibility Organization (PRO) to assist producers in meeting their new responsibilities for recycling antifreeze, oil containers and oil filters.
